National Institute of Teaching (NIoT)
The National Institute of Teaching (NIoT) will boost the quality of teacher and leader development nationally by generating and interpreting research, applying the insights to the design and delivery of high-quality teacher and school leader development programmes, and sharing it all with the sector. Their programmes are designed by teachers and leaders who understand the joys and pressures of school life. We work in collaboration with schools across the country, ensuring that our findings benefit all schools, teachers and leaders.
Teacher Development Trust (TDT)
TDT are a lead provider of NPQs with sector leading satisfaction and pass rates amongst participants and a growing reputation for a thoughtful, reflective approach to bringing the frameworks to life. Design principles recognise the centrality of people, culture, sense-making and implementation to sustainable continuous improvement, along with a flexible and mindful consideration of workload and the pressures of school life.
Initial Teacher Training:
CTSN SCITT
Unity TSH is a lead partner of CTSN SCITT. CTSN SCITT have been providing school based initial teacher training for many years. With training Hubs in Cambridge, West Suffolk and Essex, CTSN SCITT has strong partnerships with schools across the region.
NESTT (Norfolk Essex Suffolk Teacher Training)
NESTT (formerly Suffolk and Norfolk SCITT), established over 20 years ago, is one of the largest SCITTs in the country, training well over 200 trainees each year across the primary and secondary age phases.
EAST SCITT
EAST SCITT has been formed and is run by a partnership of 3 schools in Suffolk (Farlingaye High School, Kesgrave High School and Bungay High School) committed to excellence in the classroom.
Colchester Teacher Training Consortium (CTTC)
Colchester Teacher Training Consortium (CTTC) was established 16 years ago and includes over 60 schools and colleges, training around 100 primary and secondary teachers every year.

Chartered College of Teaching
The Chartered College of Teaching is the professional body for teachers, dedicated to bridging the gap between practice and research. Membership provides teachers with access to a wealth of research, resources and insight to enable excellent teaching. By bringing the profession together and giving teachers a platform for their voices to be heard and their expertise to be respected, we raise the status of teaching together.
WholeSchoolSEND
The Whole School SEND Consortium, hosted by NASEN, is delivering the Department for Education SEND Schools’ Workforce Support Contract and a randomised control trial funded by the Education Endowment Fund. It brings together schools, organisations and individuals who are committed to ensuring that every child and young person with SEND can maximise their potential.
Curriculum Hubs
Within the designated area of the Teaching School Hub there are a range of Department for Education Curriculum Hubs, who provide high quality training, advice and consultancy to schools.
Research School Network
The Research Schools Network is a collaboration between the Education Endowment Foundation and Institute for Effective Education to create a network of schools that support the use of evidence to improve teaching practice.
